Frequently Asked Questions
How many bushings do I need for my weight stack?
Top plate: Requires 4 bushings total — 2 long bushings for the top of the plate, 2 short bushings for the underside. Each secondary weight plate: Requires 2 bushings, 1 for each hole. Count your plates and order accordingly.
What’s the difference between long and short bushings?
Long bushings go on top of the top plate. Short bushings go on the underside. Both are .917" height but fit different sides of the selector plate. The top plate set includes 2 of each. Do not mix them up during installation.
Will these fit my machine’s weight stack?
These fit most standard selectorized machines using 1" guide rods. Check your specs: Top plate OD 1.1765" / ID .875". Secondary plate OD 1.175" / ID .845". Measure your old bushings or guide rod holes before ordering. The old style is discontinued — this is the current spec.
Why are my weight plates sticking?
Worn or missing bushings cause metal-on-metal contact between plates and guide rods. This creates friction, sticking, and damage. Replacing with injection molded sleeves restores smooth travel and protects your equipment. Install all 4 on top plate, 2 on each secondary plate.
Installation Tip: Remove old bushings completely. Clean guide rods. Press new bushings in firmly. For top plate: long bushings on top, short bushings underneath. Light machine oil on rods helps break-in.
