Strongman training is an excellent complement to power training. Strongman methods effectively augment traditional endurance, strength, and power programming. While traditional gym setups may be ideal for training maximally, it's hard to beat a strongman log for functional strength and power. An added bonus: many trainers are finding the log's inverted grip and width makes it easier on the wrists and shoulders; it can be safer to use than a standard barbell.
